THE EMILY MARIE FOUNDATION
OUR STORY
Dedication and Service

The Emily Marie Foundation is created in memory of our beloved daughter, Emily Marie, who passed away silently days before her due date on January 19th, 2022. Every year in Canada, more than 3,000 babies die in their mothers' wombs. That's 8.4 stillbirths every day. Parents facing the death of their child need to be cared for with compassion, patience and understanding. Expectant families who are not able to bring a living child home need to be supported as they venture through a life of grief and loss. They must also learn how to navigate a new and different relationship with their baby.

Our Mission
Every year, during Christmas and the weeks leading up to Emily's birthday we will be raising money to give back to our community of bereaved parents in two meaningful and impactful ways:

Memory Boxes
We will be giving back to our hospitals by providing them memory boxes. Memory boxes are an important part of many bereaved parents’ journey, since they are a special place for families to store meaningful items they have collected through their baby’s pregnancy, birth and in the years that follow. It is an object full of love that can help parents form a meaningful bond with their baby after loss.

"Thinking of You" Cards
A portion of the donations will be allocated towards sending cards to bereaved families. It's simple, just fill out our form for who you want to send a letter to and we'll do the rest. Often times, family and friends don't know what to do or say when you lose a loved one, even more-so a child. As holidays come up, and milestones are celebrates/mourned, show your friends and family members that we see them, we empathize with them, and that their baby is never forgotten.
